A Day at Brookfield Zoo

I went to Brookfield Zoo today for the first time in over 20 years. It was incredible! There was almost no one there, it was a Thursday, but it was also very gray but warm for January - 40 degrees. I came here on a whim because I had the day off work and I wanted to do something fun, it just happened to be their free admission day!

The animals were very active, and made so much eye contact. I wonder if that had to do with me being the only one there in many of the exhibits. They could have been more active, and hungry because today was the full moon. Here are the pictures from the day.

I sat on a bench in the scales and feathers exhibit and this bird jumped up on the ledge and stared at me. We hung out for about 20 minutes until a family came over, then he scurried away.

BEHIND THE SCENES

This first video is one of my favorites. Watch the zoo keeper give the orangoutang a snack, she ends up catching it! They said that doesn’t happen very often (when they catch it).
